Scheduled Jobs (Crontab) (Unix Only)

The crontab is a long-running process that executes commands at specific dates and times. You can use this to schedule activities, either as one-time events or as recurring tasks. Normally you must set your crontab via the command line. At Successful Hosting our customers can edit their crontabs right from our H-sphere Control Panel.

Server Side Imagemap (Unix Only)

This feature allows your server to regard files with a specific extension as map files. In other words, the server checks the file with the specified extension to define the links of an image (unlike a client-side image map, which uses the info inserted into the HTML code) and reports back to the browser where to go.

SSH Access (Unix Only)

SuccessfulHosting offers the secure form of telnet known as SSH for it's hosting packages. This allows us to provide extra security to our web servers, which in turn provides our clients with the best possible performance.

This tool allows you to 'throttle' the use of traffic in your account by delaying or refusing requests to your sites.

URL Redirection

The Redirect URL option allows you to change the file that appears when a user enters a specific file's web address. Example: There are a number of old URLs for your site's home page that are no longer current, yet people still use them. You don?t really want people going to those old URLs because either an outdated page will display or they?ll get an error. Set up redirection for these old URLs, so that when users enter them into their web browsers, the file at your current URL displays instead.

You can password protect pages to groups and just associate users to the groups. User accounts can be set to automatically expire. You can mass e-mail all of the users in your database based on demographics. Users can register with the user signup page, and if a user forgets their password, they can use the password lookup script. The setup takes less than a minute and there are no dll's to install.

.htaccess Support (Unix Only)

.htaccess files allow site owners to set special characteristics about there site using a simple file. .htaccess can be used to create custom error pages, change CGI execution parameters, make directories indexable, and a plethora of other functions.

Email

Anti-Virus Scanning

All email sent and received through our mail servers is automatically scanned by our Anti Virus software. If a virus is detected, it is removed and you are notified about this action. SuccessfulHosting uses Clam Anti Virus. The ClamAV database is always kept up to date.

Spam Filters (SpamAssassin)

Are you sick and tired of spam email? We include SpamAssassin spam protection with every hosting account. SpamAssassin allows you to trace, filter out and delete spam messages coming to your mailbox. When you enable SpamAssassin for a mailbox, you can use SpamAssassin preferences configured for a mail domain or configure it individually for a specific mailbox. The system doesn't delete messages recognized as spam. It only marks them as spam and delivers them in a regular way. You can set your mail program to move these emails into a separate directory for later review or you can delete them.

Sender Policy Framework (SPF)

Have you ever gotten spam from yourself? I have, and I've been thinking hard about how to stop it! I didn't send it. It came from a spammer. If we could stop spammers from forging mail, we could easily tell spam from ham and block the bad stuff.SPF makes it easy for a domain, whether it's an ISP, a business, a school or a vanity domain, to say, "I only send mail from these machines. If any other machine claims that I'm sending mail from there, they're lying."

Multiple Webmail Options

Every email user has access to a secure web based email system that permits sending and receiving email directly over the web. This feature is great for email users who are traveling or are in remote locations. The SuccessfulHosting Webmail system includes Horde IMP, SQWebmail, and @mail.

SMTP Server with Secure SMTP Support

Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, is a protocol for sending email messages between servers over the Internet. SMTP access allows you to send email through your server. We use the Qmail SMTP server.

POP3 with Secure POP3 Support

Many email clients, such as Outlook Express, can be used with POP3. POP3 is a type of email that transfers messages directly onto your computer at home or work. After you download your email, messages are erased from our mail server and saved on your local computer. POP3 email typically downloads messages faster than IMAP email, because the mail server doesn't have to check as many messages. Our POP3 server is powered by qmail and Inter7's vpopmail software.

IMAP with Secure IMAP Support

IMAP is a type of email that allows you to store and file email messages in different folders on the server. Unlike POP, IMAP Email does not permanently download messages onto your computer at home or work, they are stored on the server for easy access from anywhere. IMAP is ideal for people who need comprehensive email access and functionality from more than one location. To access your email, you can easily log on from any computer hooked up to the Internet. Our mail server utilizes Courier-IMAP.

Mail Domain Alias

If you utilize the Domain Alias feature, then you will find the Mail Domain Alias feature beneficial. The Mail Domain Alias allows you to setup mailboxes that are available from multiple domains. For example, user@domain1.com may be your primary mailbox, but with the Mail domain Alias feature, you can make user@domain2.com also deliver mail to that same mailbox, seamlessly.

Email Forwarding

Email forwards enable you to have email messages redirected to a specific email account. For example, you can set up the email account sales@yourdomain.com to forward all messages to any email account, for example you@yahoo.com. These forwards can be added or deleted at any time.

Email Aliases

Email aliases enable you to have email messages redirected to a specific POP email account. For example, you can set up the email alias sales@yourdomain.com to direct all messages to your account you@yourdomain.com. These aliases can be added or deleted at any time.

Mailing Lists

Mailing lists act similar to forwards with the only difference that they offer wider possibilites such as independent end user subscribtion, message and subscription moderation, archivation and much more. Disk Quota Control

Site owners can precisely control the amount of disk space allowed by each email user inside the Successful Hosting H-sphere Control panel. This feature helps prevent email hungry users from "hogging" disk resources and interfering with other aspects of your website.

ODBC Data Source Names (DSN) (Windows Only)

To make it easier for developers to connect an ASP application to a database, the system administrator can add a system data source name (DSN) to the ASP Server. DSNs store information about a database that the ASP Server and ODBC Manager use for connecting to it. Developers can use the system DSN in connection strings on ASP pages to incorporate database information by reference, rather than specifying the complete set of information in each string.

FTP

FTP access

You will have unlimited access to your account via FTP 24-hours a day to set up and maintain your web site. You can work on HTML documents, graphics, and scripts locally and then upload files to your web site when ready.

Anonymous FTP

Anonymous File Transfer Protocol allows the public to log into an FTP server with a common login (usually "ftp" or "anonymous" and any password (usually the person's e-mail address is used as the password). Anonymous FTP is beneficial for the distribution of large files to the public, avoiding the need to assign large numbers of login and password combinations for FTP access.

FTP Sub Accounts (Unix Only)

Authorizes internet users to enter clients' home directory on the server with full FTP permissions to clients' home directory, but not to the control panel. No dedicated IP is required for FTP sub-accounts. FTP sub-domains traffic is included in the Total/Summary traffic.

Virtual FTP (Unix Only)

Virtual FTP server provides ampler possibilities than FTP sub-accounts. It allows to give access to more than one directory, specify a different set of permissions for each directory, etc.

As a reseller, you are free to resell each account under your own brand name and charge your customers whatever you want. This allows you to have the look and feel of your own hosting company. All resellers will be assigned their own private name servers (ns1.resellerdomain.com and ns2.resellerdomain.com). Resellers can have their own H-sphere control panel URL, DNS server names, company information, corporate logos and all other parameters visible from the user's control panel. Furthermore, reseller control panels are inaccessible by IP, which excludes the possibility of accidental or intentional visits to our control panel or website.

Overselling

We charge our resellers by the hosting resource usage and not by hosting resource allocation. This means, for example, if we assign your reseller account 3500 MB of disk space, you can create a hosting plan that gives away 200 MB of disk space and have up to 50 clients (Total allocation: 10000MB). Why? Because we charge you by the amount of space you actually use, not the allocation. So if each client uses 20 MB of disk space, you can have up to 175 clients... totaling 3500 MB of disk space actually being used. If you need more, our hosting resources costs are very low - in this case $0.05 per additional MB disk space usage. The same method applies for bandwidth and the other resources. We only charge for what is actually being used by your clients!

Email Notifications and Invoices

Whenever necessary, our Private Label Hosting Reseller software will e-mail your customers important details. You can also have copies of these e-mails sent to your e-mail account. Notifications are sent when a customer signs up, forgets a password, approaches disk or traffic limit to name just a few instances. Customers can also choose to get all their invoices by e-mail.

Mass Mail Customers

Often, you will need to send emails to multiple or all customers e.g: newsletters. The mass mail feature allows to send one customizable message to a some or all of your customers right from your Reseller H-sphere Control Panel.

Customizable Help Desk and Knowledgebase

Your customers H-sphere control panel comes with an integrated support center that allows them to communicate their problems and questions to you or your support staff using a web browser. The knowledgebase was created as a combination of FAQ and search utility, the KnowledgeBase system helps to improve your end user customer support.
